Dr. Marleis Trover – Board Member

 

Dr. Trover is an Associate Professor at McKendree University in Lebanon, Illinois. There, she teaches courses in curriculum, school finance, school law and supervision. She is also a consultant for the Consortium for Educational Change in Lombard. Marleis currently serves on the Illinois Rural Schools Board and on the Center for Budget Accountability Board located in Chicago. Before she retired, she was an elementary, secondary and unit superintendent. Her last service was at Vienna High School 13-3. She also served on the Governor’s Team for Educational Excellence, the Illinois Virtual High School Board, and the Illinois Baldrige in Education Board. She served two terms on the Illinois (EFAB) Educational Funding Advisory Board. Dr. Trover served as the 2004-2005 Illinois Association of School Administrators’ President and as a two-term Governing Board Member of the American Association of School Administrators from 2004-2010. She served as a designer/facilitator for the Motorola University/Illinois Association of School Administrators’ Leadership Partnership from 1990-2005. She continues to design and facilitate Illinois Administrator Academy Courses. She also co-authored a biography, Pass the Plate: The Life and Legacy of US Congressman, Kenneth J. Gray in 2009. The authors share the book with public libraries and schools. She obtained her Master’s Degree in Education in 1982 and was awarded her Ph.D. in Educational Administration and Higher Education from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, Illinois in 1989. She is married to Bob Trover, Tamaroa Grade School Interim Superintendent. They have three grown children.
